It works with five value chains, pineapple, cocoa, avocados, greenhouse, and Asian vegetables, and takes a “field to fork” approach, providing technical assistance all along the value chain, including producers, packinghouses, and exporters. General Objective Provide technical assistance to develop a business model and plan with identified DR green-skin avocado exporters around the “Tropical Avocado from the Dominican Republic” collective trademark, which is in the process of registration. Background The Dominican Republic is currently exporting green skin avocados to the United States, where they are mostly sold on the east coast in Miami, New York, and Boston.
